As I start writing, it’s 16.21 in the afternoon of Friday, 14th June 2024. I don’t have anything particular to say, but I’ve had this vague sense that I want to be writing, so — here goes.

I’ve plugged my headphones into my computer’s audio jack — thanks to my computer for the pop-up telling me that I’ve just plugged a device into my computer’s audio jack — and I’ve opened a window for YouTube.

A story I saw yesterday, or maybe it was today, said something about Twin Peaks, and I thought: I haven’t heard that for a while. So, hold on — there. I skipped the ad and closed the pop-up and now I’m listening to the Twin Peaks theme.

Used to have this in the car, once upon a time. Played it a lot; it brings back memories. Also, the Julee Cruise version, with lyrics — oh. She died. Oh.

People have an influence. Julee Cruise. The theme was an instrumental version of her original song, says Wikipedia.

She “left this realm on her own terms,” listening to the B-52s’ Roam as she “transitioned” from here to there — that’s so much the right word.

The Twin Peaks theme has repeated. I shall listen to Roam, and then I shall listen to Julee Cruise’s song Falling, which gave us the theme.

Julee Cruise.
